Pharmaceutical sales up 9% in the quarter

Merck 1Q Revenues: $10.0 billion (+6%) 1Q Earnings: $3.6 billion (+14%) Comments: Pharmaceutical sales were $8.9 billion in the quarter, up 9% primarily driven by growth in oncology, diabetes, partially offset by lower sales in virology and the ongoing impacts of the loss of market exclusivity for several products. Keytruda sales were up 151% to $1.5 billion in the quarter. Januvia sales were up 7% to $1.4 billion. Gardasil sales were up 24% to $660 million. PROQUAD, M-M-R II and VARIVAX sale...
